CDEX
The energy industry is increasingly using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to track growing volumes of data. EDI
reduces the time to verify data, post monthly accounts, and process paperwork by electronically transferring data. EDI is now becoming the accepted method of
transacting business, according to a 1990 survey that was done by Coopers & Lybrand. Sixty-two percent of respondents were using EDI or expanding its use
throughout the company.
Taking advantage of EDI technology, industry leaders and GE Information Services developed the Petroleum Check Stub
Interchange (CDEX) in 1981. Handling revenue accounting, CDEX provides both a unified system and the standards needed to collect and verify check stub data.
Using this system enables managers to cut data entry time, improve accuracy, and standardize information.
Clients can reduce extensive data entry and quickly obtain vital revenue accounting information.
Avatar Systems uses EDI capabilities through its CDEX interface. With our software, clients can transmit their check
stub information directly into their System and Avatar's revenue accounting package. Clients can reduce extensive data entry and quickly obtain vital
revenue accounting information.
