What is RAPID?
RAPID, or Remote Access Private Integrated Datalink, is an ASP Hosted Oil and Gas Accounting, Financial, Land and Production Management Application developed by Avatar to reduce the high costs of Oil and Gas Accounting software ownership and regular version upgrades. By delivering the software application through remote connectivity, RAPID ASP facilitates lowered system costs by eliminating the subscriber's need for expensive in-house hardware solutions, software purchases and eventual upgrades as well as lowering or eliminating the expense of an internal IT department and technically trained staff. As the Application Host, Avatar Systems acts as an Application Service Provider, or ASP.

What is an ASP?
An ASP is an Application Service Provider. An ASP delivers software applications to clients over the Internet on a per-user per-month subscription basis. The ASP model of software delivery allows small to medium sized businesses to access Avatar's sophisticated, full featured Back Office Accounting, Land and Production solution at a cost greatly reduced from that of ownership. Using a browser or terminal emulator, the customer can access the ASP's application on a per seat rental basis.
